No typo. It's the Funky version of the Wizard of Oz. Diana Ross was Dorothy and Michael Jackson was the scarecrow.
Now see...I have issues with this move. It's a musical (obviously), but the songs are soooo long and generally boring (and extremely close together... as in less than 2 mins). I usually LOVE musicals. But my soph year of HS we did a few of the songs from it for our band field show. I was on drumline that year and the drumline had one whole song to themselvs for it. It was Ease On Down the Road. Awesome song, don't get me wrong, but seriously. I have probably heard that song at the very least 300 times and still have it stuck in my head. I haven't played it (on an interments or really on cd) for about 3 years. You would think it would be out of my head by now since I was a soph in hs almost 5 years ago right? NO at least once a month i'm still sitting there tapping it out on my desk or something. Plus it was even worse since I played marimba (basically slightly bigger than a xlyaphone) and had to use two mallets in each hand and had to hit the right notes... do you have any idea how many blisters that causes between your fingers? just checking. Oh! and then to make it worse for the homecoming football game (most embarrassing hs moment coming up) the band director decided that we should dress up as characters from the movies (well actually we ended up dressing up like Wizard of Oz characters since they had flying motorcycles instead of flying monkeys in the wiz) So he thought that the three mallet players should dress up as flying monkeys. OMG so incredibly embarrassing! Everyone that walked by where the band was sitting kept asking us why we were dressed up as black angels and had tails. Keep in mind by this time the wings were barely staying on and the tails too and the first quarter wasn't even over. Thank goodness I didn't like guys at that time ha ha.
